With the completion of “Gabby and The Tooth Fairy” and a return to a normal work schedule I’ve found myself with time to revisit with some basic drawing lessons. I’m working from a book titled “Drawing Projects, an exploration of the language of drawing”. It seems ideal for a wide range of ability levels and has some interesting lessons which force you to loosen up and work outside your usual comfort zone. One of the lessons I worked on today is pictured below. It involved taping 2 pencils together and drawing a portrait, a self portrait, or a single object. After about 10 minutes with 2 pencils, you go back in and tighten it up with one pencil trying to use mass and mark making rather than line to define the form. Great lesson, thoroughly enjoying myself as I go through the projects.
